Meta’s 2026 AI rules
Task-specific assistants only.
From 15 January 2026, Meta does not allow general-purpose AI assistants, the kind that chat about anything, on the WhatsApp Business API. Assistants built for one business task remain allowed.
That is how a good enquiry process should work anyway. Your assistant answers from content you approve, asks the questions your team needs answered, books the next step and hands over to a person. It never makes up prices, promises or advice.
60-Second Lead Response
What we set up for your team.
A focused implementation around one enquiry journey, tested before it goes live and handed over with training.
- Connect the channels
WhatsApp Business API, website forms, email and property or listing portals feed one CRM record per enquiry.
Where your provider supports it, your team can keep the WhatsApp Business app on the same number.- Reply in seconds
Every new enquiry gets an immediate, approved reply that confirms receipt and asks two to four qualifying questions.
At night and at weekends too.- Qualify with a task-specific assistant
The assistant answers from your approved content, collects the details your team needs and books a call or visit. It hands over to a person when asked or unsure.
Built for one business task, as Meta’s 2026 rules require.- Route to a named owner
Assign by service, area, language or workload, with reminders and escalation if no one picks it up.
No enquiry sits in a shared inbox without an owner.- Measure the response
Track first-reply time, pickup time by owner and outcomes by source in one report.
You see where enquiries wait and which channels produce work.

Common questions
WhatsApp Business API questions.
What is the difference between the WhatsApp Business app and the API?
The app is free and works well for a few people on one phone number. The API connects WhatsApp to your CRM and systems, so a team can share conversations, automate first replies and routing, and keep a record of every enquiry. The API is accessed through a Meta business solution provider.
Are AI chatbots allowed on WhatsApp in 2026?
Meta does not allow general-purpose AI assistants on the WhatsApp Business API from 15 January 2026. Assistants built for a specific business task, such as answering questions about your services, qualifying an enquiry or booking an appointment, remain allowed. We build task-specific assistants with a human handoff.
How much does WhatsApp messaging cost?
Since 1 July 2025, Meta charges per delivered template message, by category: marketing, utility and authentication. Replies inside the customer service window are free, and utility templates sent inside that window are free too. Your provider may add a platform fee. Use the estimate on this page and confirm current rates with Meta or your provider.
Can we keep using the WhatsApp Business app?
Often, yes. Meta supports using the WhatsApp Business app and the API on the same number for eligible accounts, depending on your provider. We check this before recommending a setup.
Which CRM do you connect to?
We start with the CRM you already use, such as Zoho, HubSpot, Salesforce or Odoo, and check its plan, permissions and supported integrations. CRM replacement is a separate project.
Who owns the number and the data?
You do. The WhatsApp Business account, the phone number, the provider contract and the CRM stay in your business’s name, and messaging and software costs are billed to you directly.
What is the free response-time test?
With your permission, we send test enquiries to your website form and WhatsApp number at agreed times and report how long each reply took and what it said. It shows where enquiries wait, before you spend anything.

A clearer process starts with a conversation.
